Tordoa (“Tordoa,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) operates an online rental marketplace that helps renters and landlords discover and connect with one another. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, when we share it, and the choices available to you when you use Tordoa.
By using Tordoa, you acknowledge the practices described in this Privacy Policy.
01. Information We Collect
We may collect the following categories of information:
Account Information
- Name
- Email address
- Authentication information associated with your Tordoa account
- Information provided through third-party authentication services, such as Google Sign-In
Renter Profile Information
If you create a renter profile, we may collect:
- Desired location
- Property type
- Number of bedrooms and bathrooms
- Budget
- Desired move-in date
- Lease preferences
- Amenities and other housing preferences
- Pet information
- Self-reported income range
- Optional biography or profile information
- Optional profile personalization information
- Optional profile photo
Income information is self-reported and is not independently verified by Tordoa.
Listing Information
If you create or claim a property listing, we may collect:
- Property address or location
- Property type
- Rent or price information
- Bedrooms and bathrooms
- Property features and amenities
- Availability information
- Property descriptions
- Photos and other listing materials
Messages and Communications
We may collect and store messages and other communications sent through Tordoa, including communications between renters and landlords.
Contact Information
If you contact Tordoa through a contact form or similar support channel, we may collect information such as your name, email address, subject, and message.
Technical and Usage Information
We may collect information about how you interact with Tordoa, including device, browser, usage, diagnostic, and analytics information.
02. How We Use Information
We may use information to:
- Create and maintain accounts
- Create, display, and manage renter profiles and property listings
- Help renters and landlords discover one another
- Enable users to communicate through Tordoa
- Provide customer support
- Send service-related communications
- Maintain and improve Tordoa
- Understand how users interact with the platform
- Detect, investigate, and prevent fraud, abuse, security incidents, and violations of our Terms of Service
- Comply with applicable laws and legal obligations
- Protect the rights, safety, and security of Tordoa, our users, and others
03. How Renter Profile Information Is Displayed
Tordoa is designed to allow landlords to discover renter profiles.
Depending on your profile settings and the current functionality of the platform, information displayed to landlords may include:
- First name and last initial
- Desired locations
- Budget
- Bedrooms and bathrooms
- Desired move-in date
- Property type
- Lease preferences
- Amenities and preferences
- Pet information
- Self-reported income range
- Optional biography or profile information
- Profile personalization information
- Coloured initials in place of a profile photo
Profile photos are never displayed to other users. Where a photo would appear, other users see coloured initials generated from your name. Only you can view your own photo.
Your full last name, email address, and phone number are not intended to be publicly displayed as part of the renter profile unless you provide them through a communication or other feature that makes them available to another user.
You may be able to hide or deactivate your renter profile through your account settings.
04. Service Providers And Third Parties
We use third-party service providers to operate, maintain, secure, and improve Tordoa. These providers may provide services such as:
- Cloud hosting and infrastructure
- Database and data storage
- Authentication and account services
- Application and technology services
- Communications and email services
- Analytics and usage measurement
- Payment processing, if and when paid services are introduced
- Security, fraud prevention, and abuse detection
We share information with these providers only as reasonably necessary for them to provide services to Tordoa and support the operation, security, and improvement of the platform.
As of the date of this Privacy Policy, Tordoa uses services provided by Supabase, Vercel, and Google for certain infrastructure, hosting, authentication, analytics, and related technology functions. Our service providers may change over time as Tordoa develops, and we may update this Privacy Policy when material changes occur.
05. Information We Do Not Routinely Collect
Tordoa does not conduct credit checks, background checks, identity verification, or income verification as part of ordinary renter-profile creation.
Tordoa does not ordinarily require a Social Security number, government identification number, or bank account information to create a renter profile.
If the platform introduces additional services that require different information, we will provide appropriate notice.
06. Uploaded Photos And Files
Photos and other files uploaded to Tordoa are stored using third-party cloud storage services.
Profile photos are stored privately. They are not displayed to other users and are not publicly accessible. Only you can view your own profile photo, through a temporary link generated when you view your own account.
Listing photos are public. A listing is a public advertisement for a property, so its photos can be viewed by anyone using Tordoa, including people without an account.
When you delete your account, a listing, or a renter profile, the associated photo files are deleted from storage along with the record. Replacing a photo removes the file it replaced.
07. Account Deletion And Data Deletion
You may delete your Tordoa account through the account settings functionality provided by Tordoa.
When you delete your Tordoa account, we permanently delete your Tordoa authentication account and core marketplace records associated with the account, including your profile, renter profile, owned listings, and favorites.
Related conversations, messages, and reports associated with the account may also be permanently deleted through our database deletion process. Deleting an account may therefore remove an entire conversation thread, including messages sent by another participant.
Certain information is not automatically deleted when an account is deleted. In particular:
- Messages you sent through our contact form are kept, because they are not linked to your account. Email privacy@tordoa.com if you want these removed.
- Information may remain in our providers' routine backups until those backups expire on their own schedule.
Deleting your Tordoa account does not delete your Google account or revoke your Google account itself. Google is used as an authentication provider for Tordoa.
If you sign in to Tordoa again using the same Google account after deleting your Tordoa account, a new Tordoa account may be created.
08. Hiding And Deleting Profiles Or Listings
Hiding a renter profile or deactivating a listing does not necessarily delete the underlying record. Certain information may remain stored while the profile or listing is hidden or inactive.
Where available, users may separately delete a renter profile or property listing. Deleting a renter profile or listing removes the associated marketplace record and its photo files.
09. Data Retention
We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide and maintain Tordoa, operate and secure the platform, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce our agreements, and otherwise fulfill the purposes described in this Privacy Policy.
When you delete your account, we delete certain account and marketplace records as described above. Some information may remain in backups or third-party systems for periods determined by those providers' systems and policies. Contact-form submissions are not automatically deleted when an account is deleted.
Tordoa does not currently operate an automatic data-retention or expiration schedule for marketplace profiles, listings, messages, or uploaded files.
10. Your Choices And Privacy Requests
Depending on applicable law and the circumstances, you may:
- Access or review information associated with your account
- Update or correct your account and profile information
- Hide or deactivate certain marketplace information
- Delete your renter profile or listing where the functionality is available
- Delete your Tordoa account
- Email privacy@tordoa.com to request access to personal information we maintain about you
- Email privacy@tordoa.com with questions about our privacy practices
- Unsubscribe from non-essential communications where applicable
Requests for access, deletion, or other privacy assistance may be handled manually. We may request reasonable information to verify a request. Contact privacy@tordoa.com for data requests or questions about our privacy practices.
11. Information Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures intended to protect information against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, alteration, or disclosure.
No method of transmitting or storing information is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
13. Third-Party Links And Services
Tordoa may contain links to third-party websites or services. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of third parties that operate those websites or services. We encourage you to review their privacy policies before providing them with information.
14. Children
Tordoa is intended for users who are 18 years of age or older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18 for use of the marketplace.
15. Fair Housing
Tordoa is intended to support lawful housing-related connections. Users are responsible for complying with applicable federal, state, and local fair housing and anti-discrimination laws.
Tordoa does not intentionally collect or use protected-class information for unlawful housing discrimination and may take action against accounts or content that violate applicable laws or our Terms of Service.
16. Do Not Track
Some browsers can send a "Do Not Track" signal. Our behaviour does not change when we receive one, because we do not track users across other websites and we do not serve targeted advertising. You can manage cookies and analytics through your browser or device settings.
17. Privacy Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have legal rights concerning your personal information, including rights to request access, correction, deletion, or other information about how your data is processed.

18. Changes To This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time as Tordoa, our services, or applicable legal requirements change.
When we make changes, we will update the “Last Updated” date at the top of this Privacy Policy. Material changes may also be communicated through the platform or other appropriate means.
